Principal, The Marcomm Edge
With over 35 years of strategic and tactical marketing and marketing communications experience, Mr. Rumac has worked in a variety of companies and industries, ranging from consumer goods to high tech. Mr. Rumac's experience includes short and long term strategic planning, brand building, advertising and public relations for companies that sold direct and through distribution. He has worked for both advertising agencies and client companies in such diverse industries as food, drug, computers, videoconfencing, payroll services, insurance and consumer electronics. Within his business career, Mr. Rumac founded strategic marketing services firms to engage with companies that require marketing and communication expertise but have neither the resources nor internal bandwidth to accomplish their marketing goals on their own.
Among the many beneficiaries of Mr. Rumac's experience are VTEL Corporation, Dell Computer Corporation, and Automatic Data Processing (ADP). Barry worked for Grey Direct Advertising as Executive Vice President where he opened an office in Raleigh, NC with IBM PC Direct as the major client. He also served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Target Technologies in Wilmington, NC. Barry was a co-founder and Managing Partner of Vision Edge Marketing, Inc. a strategic marketing services firm located in Austin, TX. Prominent among his clients were BMC Corporation and SicolaMartin Advertising where he was involved with such companies as Citrix Corporation, and FutureLink. a pioneer in the ASP market. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University.
Jack Steeg
VP of Business Development at Ringdale Technolgies
Mr. Steeg has held senior management positions at a number of high profile technology companies, including NCR and DELL, Unisys, and several startups. Mr. Steeg started his career with NCR as a programmer/analyst. During his 26-year tenure at NCR Jack held positions in services, product marketing, and sales, leading to roles as VP of Community Banking, Financial Systems Division and later VP Worldwide Partners. In this last role he achieved 18 of 20 successful 100% club awards. Recruited by Dell in 1997, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he resides today with his wife and two teenage children. At Dell he started the Alliance Marketing Organization and helped Dell become the leader in the server business within a three-year period. While at Dell, Mr. Steeg also ran the Internet Sales Division focused on hosting providers.
Nancy Williamson
President & CEO, Hamann & Williamson, LLP
Ms. Williamson is a certified public accountant with 15 years of hands on industry experience. She has provided a wide array of services in her 8 year consulting career in many different industries. Her list of clients include dentists, consulting firms and other service providers, retail food sales and tons of manufacturing clients with unique inventory issues.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, she started her career in public accounting and moved on to become a Controller and then Vice President of Finance and Operations for a billion dollar corporation. Her consulting career was kick started quickly when she was placed in charge of 16 consultants to manage a large fraud campaign where she and her team were instrumental in collecting over 30 million dollars in damages. From there she moved on to installing accounting and manufacturing computer systems for family owned and publicly traded corporations. Performance reviews of school districts around Texas was her next consulting opportunity where she recommended millions of dollars of cost savings.
Her business valuations have been tried and tested through the court system in a variety of different circumstance and industries. Shes been named as an expert witness in over 30 different cases and has provided a wide variety of services to plaintiff and defense attorneys.
She and her husband own their own manufacturing company where she gained a first hand knowledge of the challenges facing business owners. She writes and provides training and insight on the challenges facing business owners and the importance of understanding and preparing for the future. Its never too early to start to prepare your company for sales or transition to a new owner or to create a unique succession plan for your business.
