Micro-sites
These Web sites serve as tributaries to a company's main Web site, but there's nothing small about their mission -- or their requirements. Often created to promote awareness of specific corporate campaigns - such as special product lines, corporate citizenship initiatives, joint ventures, seasonal promotions or any number of other tailored initiatives - micro-sites have a story to tell. For example, Live Oak engineered a micro-site for computer chipmaker AMD to promote the use of AMD-powered computers in the making of the animated movie "Over the Hedge."
One challenge in creating a micro-site is that it must complement rather than compete with a company's main Web site. This means, for example, that site navigation and transactional functions should have a similar look and feel as the main site, For maximum synergy, micro-sites should also leverage the same kinds of technology tools, standards and processes used by the company's other Internet applications. Live Oak 360 has the infrastructure expertise to help turn micro-sites into maximum successes.
